Peonies In The Spring

My inspiration for this post came from my yard as my peonies are in bloom. What a spectacular flower. They are so beautiful in a simple vase sitting on the kitchen table. There are so many varieties - just gorgeous! So enjoy the inspiration.

I do have one tip for you. I find when I go to cut them they are covered in ants. Wait until evening before the sun sets and you will find most of the ants have returned home for the night. Flowers are ant free and so is your home!

  2. Susan, Your images of the peonies are so beautiful! And thanks for the great cutting tip. I don't want to take in any more ants than I have to.
I also heard something so fantastic from Martha. Did you know that you have peonies bloom for up to 6 months.
Cut the buds of the peonies and wrap them in dry newspaper and put them in your frig and take them out and put them in water and they will bloom. I'm going to try this. Can you imagine, beautiful peonies until November?
    Have a happy Memorial Day!

  3. Thanks Yvonne for that tip. I am going to give it a try. I will have to make sure that the package is marked well so that no one throws it away!
