Tablescape With Vintage Sleds And Cookie Exchange

Yesterday, I had my second Cookie Exchange and lunch for friends. Once again, it was a wonderful day and everyone went home with a great assortment of cookies. I tried not to get crazy with decoration with a specific theme this year. I loved having this last year, but I wanted to keep it as stress free as possible.

I have fallen in love with the vintage look and this years table decoration inspiration I found in my basement. I have a wooden baby sled that was mine - it was used when my parents bought it when I was a child. I think it could be 55-60 years old, but I have no way to know for sure. Along with the baby sled, I knew that my mother had several old Flexible Flyer sleds in her attic. With embellishments, I created a somewhat unusual and beautiful tablescape.

I used flocked greens, gilded pine cones and fruit with silver glittered stems to decorate the sled.

These small vintage trees accented my theme. I bought silver vintage looking garland at Target and placed it in my hollow candle holders. They reminded me of a few antique ornaments my mother had that had silver garland down the center of them.

I used a few glass cylinder vases filled with sparkly snowflakes as plate risers.
My newish wood table needed a little protecting. I found this extra wide snowflake wrapping paper at Target. It looked festive...better than any tablecloth...and protected my table from any scratches.

Here is my mothers well used Flexible Flyer sled.

Here is a closeup of the wrapping paper.

This is the baby sled that decorated my kitchen island where I served the food.

I created these cookie tags using index cards and cute cookie stickers.

These ladies know how to make some beautiful cookies!

Everyone left with a nice assortment of Christmas Cookies...and I ended up with a few extras!
