DIY Elegant Party Wine Charms

I am planning a graduation party for my daughter in a couple of weeks. Like anyone who loves to plan parties...I have been working on this for months! Instead of your typical graduation cap or diploma theme, I am decided I wanted it to be a sweet and pretty party. Our school colors are green and white. I am going with a daisy theme and will be adding a splash of yellow into the mix.

Like everyone, I love bakery twine. I wish this was something I could pick-up at the store, but it needs to be purchased online. One day I was shopping at Micheal's and found this skein of green and white twisted yarn by Lily called Sugar'n Cream Twists. It is not as thin as bakery twin, but it was close enough to make these great wine glass markers for the party.

I also used these tags from Martha Stewart Crafts that can be found near the scrapbook department. I found lots of great items for the party in the dollar bin at Micheal's including a box of these green felt butterflies with a yellow rhinestone center. I used a little Tacky Glue to adhere the butterfly to the tag. The yarn cost around $1.70 compared to $10 plus shipping for the bakery twine. I used a coupon to purchase the white Martha Stewart tags making this a very inexpensive way to help guest keep track of their drinks!

  1. This is a really cute idea!
Today I am hosting my weekly linky party called “20 minute Tuesdays”. It’s for projects that cost less than $10 and take 20-30 minutes (ISH). This project would be perfect! Would you consider linking up on Tuesday? http://sweetfloweret.blogspot.com
PS: I have 30 spots left to receive a free button pony tailer! Check out the details here: http://sweetfloweret.blogspot.com/p/may-winners.html
